Here I have listed symptoms that Heather and I both have going into the challenge:
mood swings/blood sugar problems
occasional acid reflux
(besides the psoriasis)
How it works:
We ordered our 30 days of healthy living kits through Arbonne. Included in the kits are 2 bags of vegan protein powder (vanilla and chocolate flavors), one bag of fiber, digestion plus packets, body cleanse packets, fizz sticks, and detox tea.
In the morning you take a digestion plus packet on an empty stomach . It is essentially a powered probiotic , you add the powder to 4oz of water. It smells like feet but if you plug your nose and take it down like its your 21st birthday, its not bad at all. They also just improved the formula and it has a much milder smell. I know that it is helping my gut, so its one of those things where the benefits outweigh the costs. Probiotics are great to get your gut flora going in the right direction.
Then after 30 minutes you make your first delicious shake. This is where it gets fun. You can add berries, almond butter, etc. There are a ton of recipes out there for ways to make the shake. I personally like the flavor and have never added much to them, except about a half a scoop of the fiber. The fiber is key to keep things moving……..enough said.
You then can have a mid morning snack off of the approved list. I love berries, Beanito chips and some salsa, brown rice cakes with almond butter, etc.
Repeat shake for lunch
Repeat afternoon snack, but you obviously can change what you have.
Then a “clean” dinner. This again is where you can get creative. Pinterest and the interwebs have a slew of Arbonne friendly recipes. Also fast food places like Chipotle offer a quick dinner you can grab and still stay with the plan. (brown rice, lettuce, chicken, beans, salsa, and guac are all-OK!)
The body cleanse is a fun citrus-y drink that you take every other day, weeks 3&4. This is to ensure that your gut moves all those toxins out . You mix the packet into a large water bottle and can enjoy all day.
Fix sticks contain a small amount of caffeine and are a good alternative for people who have a real soda craving and the detox tea can fill the void for those of us who want something warm in the morning.
Last but not least………ALL THE WATER! Hydration is the key to eliminating toxins.
OK thats all for now, day one with no coffee and I am……..zzzzzzzzzzzzz
